Best Advance in Learning Management Technology

Awarded to DiscoverLink Talent

West Chicago, Illinois—March 6, 2017—DiscoverLink, Inc., the leader in e-learning solutions for the hospitality industry, won a coveted Brandon Hall Group Silver award for excellence in the Best Advance in Learning Management Technology category. The award was given to DiscoverLink Talent, a hospitality-optimized learning management solution (LMS) that helps clients track compliance across brands, accelerate staff competency, and reduce employee turnover. The 2016 winners are listed at: http://www.brandonhall.com/excellenceawards/excellence-technology.php?year=2016#Best Advance in Learning Management Technology

Silver-TECH-Award-2016 1000DiscoverLink Talent was recognized for its dramatic improvement in ease of use, especially for managers and administrators, compared to other LMSs. Built from the ground up with the needs of the hospitality industry in mind, DiscoverLink Talent is focused on helping clients deliver training more efficiently and effectively while reducing administrative burden.

“We are so excited to have been honored by Brandon Hall for the advances we have made in LMS technology for the hospitality industry,” said Jeff Tenut, Founder and Vice President of Solution Design for DiscoverLink. “The tremendous success that DiscoverLink Talent has achieved in the marketplace is further validated by this prestigious award.”

One of the most significant differentiators of DiscoverLink Talent, which contributes substantially to its ease of use, is the Manager’s Dashboard. The dashboard acts as the control center for managers, where they can see at a glance which of their team members is assigned training (open circle), who is in progress (half circle), and who has completed it (full circle). Yellow and red triangles indicate that the due date is approaching or is past due, and locks mean that the training requires a pre-requisite to be completed before the learning program is available to the learner.

To assign training, the manager simply clicks the empty cell at the intersection of the employee’s name and the learning program. This single-click assignment is intuitive, requiring no training for the manager, and is a huge time-saving feature when compared to other LMSs that require searching for the employee, finding multiple courses to assign and then applying multiple clicks to save the assignment.

“We congratulate our Technology Award winners, and also thank them for leading the way in designing and utilizing technologies that empower organizations to enhance – and in some cases transform – their organizations,” said Rachel Cooke, Chief Operating Officer of Brandon Hall Group and head of the awards program. “Our research shows that Human Capital Management technology is a primary driver of innovation, and our award-winning organizations serve as models of success.”

“Another significant finding of our research is the importance of optimizing the employee experience as a driver of engagement and retention,” said Brandon Hall Group CEO Mike Cooke. “The technology user experience plays an increasingly large role in shaping the employee experience, and these award winners are creating leading practices that deserve validation and recognition.”

A panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, and Brandon Hall Group senior analysts and executives evaluated the entries based upon the following criteria:

  • Product: What was the product’s breakthrough innovation?
  • Unique differentiators: What makes the product unique, and how does it differ from any competing products?
  • Value proposition: What problem does the product solve and/or what need does this product address?
  • Measurable results: What are the benefits customers can expect to experience as a result of using this product?
