Client-Requested Improvements to Simplify Your Work

Over the past six weeks, we have launched several small releases of DiscoverLink Talent that included changes specifically requested by our clients. The focus of these enhancements was on improving the usability of specific features to help streamline and simplify your work.

Dashboard Jump-to Improvements

In the past, a multi-unit manager who only has permissions to view certain locations, would have to sift through all locations in the hierarchy when using the Jump-To feature on the Manager’s Dashboard. Now their location list is limited to only those parts of the hierarchy they have permissions for.

We’ve also made it easier to see where you are when navigating from one location to another. The Dashboard now highlights the location you are currently displaying, and the State and Store Type are displayed next to the location name.

Hierarchy Now in Move Location Tab

The organizational hierarchy is now displayed in the Move Location tab on the Employee Profile rather than popping up in a new window. And we’ve added a search box to help find the new location more easily, plus a new confirmation after the action is taken. This simplifies the move function and reduces confusion and accidental moves.

ConnectCheck Internet Monitor

We all know that in a crowded restaurant Wi-fi can sometimes really be No-fi, turning your internet into internot. And learners can become frustrated when they work hard to complete training assignments only to find that they lost their internet connection 10 minutes ago and they are not going to get credit for finishing that course.

ConnectCheck to the rescue! ConnectCheck lets you know when you have lost your internet connection so you can reconnect. It’s as simple as that. It:

– Prevents lost productivity

– Eliminates learner frustration

– Eases concerns about whether or not learners are credited for assignments

– Reduces the need to “give credit” afterwards

How does it work?

For most content and resource items, a “heartbeat” monitor checks the internet connection every 30 seconds, and learners are notified if their internet connection is lost. A link in the message lets the learner try to restart the connection. ConnectCheck:

– Advises you of a problem within 30 seconds of losing your internet connection

– Lets you monitor attempts to reconnect

– Tells you when you are able to reconnect and gives you a link to make it happen

Reporting Enhancements

Content Reports with Hierarchy Details

When exporting Content Incompletes, Content Completes, or Content Status Summary reports to Excel, the full hierarchy is now displayed in separate columns for each level. This provides a more complete understanding of where the learner falls within the organizational structure.

Learning Program Contents Report

The Learning Program Contents Report now includes the Category each content item is listed under.

Individual Training Status Report

The Individual Training Status Report now highlights failed exam attempts.

Improved Dashboard Printability

We know that some of you like to be able to print out the Manager’s Dashboard, and in the past the result was poorly formatted. We have improved the way the Dashboard responds to the browser’s print command, so the results now look much better.

Loading Message Additions

We’ve added more page-loading messages throughout the product to let you know that work is in progress for pages that take a bit of time to load. This is particularly useful for very large campuses that have a lot of content on the Manage Content page.
