DiscoverLink Adds Tin Can to Mobile App Beta Program

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Feature Improves Experience for Low Bandwidth Locations

West Chicago, Illinois—May 17, 2019—DiscoverLink, Inc., the leader in e-learning solutions for the hospitality industry, announces the launch of Tin Can to the DiscoverLink Talent Mobile App beta program. Tin Can improves the completion rate of online learning and provides a better learner experience for restaurant locations with limited bandwidth or unreliable internet connections. It allows courses to be downloaded to iOS or Android devices without worry of losing completion data due to connectivity issues.

The beta program has been in progress since April 1st and includes 12 DiscoverLink Talent clients testing the Mobile App across more than 100 locations. The Mobile App is scheduled for launch in June.

Mobile App

The Mobile App is the mobile device version of DiscoverLink’s enterprise e-learning solution, DiscoverLink Talent. DiscoverLink Talent is a restaurant-optimized learning management system (LMS) that can be combined with DiscoverLink’s extensive library of mobile-ready e-courses.

In addition to the new Tin Can capabilities, the Mobile App:

  • Provides access to resources with no login required for just-in-time viewing of training content, operations manuals, recipes, how-to videos, and more
  • Enables messages to be sent to all users across the whole system or to specific groups of users or individuals
  • Allows learners to log in to complete training assigned to them, but prevents unauthorized offsite access using geofencing security options
  • Delivers instant feedback on deployed resources with 5-star learner ratings and usage statistics by location
  • Facilitates easy onsite setup via QR code scanning with no IT intervention required

“Mobile technology is the wave of the future for e-learning in restaurants,” said Tom Tankelewicz, COO for DiscoverLink. “With the new Mobile App, restaurant brands will be able to deploy training resources for instant access and communicate more effectively with all of its learners.”

DiscoverLink Talent and the new Mobile App will be available for demonstration at the National Restaurant Show, May 18 -21, at booth 7263 in the North Hall. Request a meeting to schedule a personal demonstration.
