California Restaurant Association Recognizes DiscoverLink for its Sponsorship of the FIT Program

Alycia Harshfield, Executive Director of the California Restaurant Association Education Foundation (CRAEF), presents a placque to Mike Andrews, Account Manager for DiscoverLink in appreciation of DiscoverLink’s sponsorship of CRAEF’s Force in Training (FIT) program.

The FIT program is an initiative to bring job readiness training to high school students to motivate, train and prepare the students for jobs in the restaurant industry.   Developed in conjuction with leading California-based restaurant brands, FIT focuses on the soft skills required for success.

DiscoverLink assisted in the year’s FIT program by revamping its curriculum, including:

  • Creating a program module template
  • Incorporating age appreciate illustrations
  • Modifing module topics
  • Focusing the content more towards the audience
  • Building a detailed facilitator guide

The 2015 FIT program trained more than 2,900 students from 55 high schools across California.  More than 110 restaurant training professionals and executives volunteered to deliver the training.
